Spoilers ahead: for the puzzle and the movies/games
This post assumes you've already solved the puzzle. It reveals all categories and their connections, and discusses plot details, endings, and spoilers for featured movies/games throughout.
The Brass Teapot pays its owners whenever somebody gets hurt. It is a financial plan written by an object that should not pass a credit check.
Movies: The Brass Teapot · The Ultimate Gift · The Bachelor · Easy Money
Every fortune comes with a catch. The Brass Teapot rewards pain, The Bachelor must marry by a deadline, and Easy Money asks Rodney Dangerfield to clean up his habits for the will.
The Ultimate Gift stretches the condition into a sequence of lessons. These benefactors could have left cash and a kind note. They chose posthumous game design.
Movies: October Sky · The Astronaut Farmer · SpaceCamp · Space Warriors
October Sky begins with teenagers in a West Virginia coal town building rockets after Sputnik crosses the sky. The Astronaut Farmer takes the backyard version much further, with Billy Bob Thornton assembling a rocket on a Texas ranch.
SpaceCamp and Space Warriors put younger crews inside NASA-flavored training. SpaceCamp's aspiring astronauts reach orbit under terrible circumstances, which is one way to make the curriculum memorable.
Movies: The Blood on Satan's Claw · Final Prayer · Enys Men · Starve Acre
The Blood on Satan's Claw helped define British folk horror through an isolated village, old evil, and a landscape that seems to remember more than its residents. Final Prayer sends investigators to a rural Devon church and discovers that professional skepticism has limits.
Enys Men was shot on 16 mm in Cornwall, giving its island a rough, weathered texture. Starve Acre moves the unease to rural Yorkshire. The connection lives in more than geography: old belief, closed communities, and the land itself keep pressing into modern life.
Movies: Oxygen · Mine · The Last Descent · Meander
Oxygen locks Mélanie Laurent inside a cryogenic pod. The Last Descent recreates a caving disaster, while Meander turns a mechanical tunnel into a sequence of lethal chambers.
Mine looks like the outlier because its lead stands in an open desert. He cannot move his foot from a landmine. The group clicks when “space” stops meaning walls and starts meaning the tiny amount of safe movement still available.
If restricted movement is your idea of a good evening, today's PixelLinkr puzzle offers cameras, hospital queues, and several open worlds where a car is the only sensible escape.
